I’m Sara, the brunette! I just want to first say thank you for stopping by and hanging out on our site! It has been lots of work and tons of fun to unite with Rocio and we are just getting started!
Well, getting started with our new project. Truth is, I’ve been doing hair for over 10 years. Yikes… did I just age myself? Anyways, I got started at a Paul Mitchell cosmetology school here in Miami. After graduating, I did several apprenticeships in Miami Beach and the Brickell area. I had also simultaneously partnered with a local PR agency in which I styled hair for models being featured in magazines and local runway shows. Although this period in my career was fun and taught me how to properly work under pressure, it was being behind the chair that truly fulfilled me. At this point, I had switched gears and dedicated my time to being in the salon; learning and creating the best cut and color techniques for my clients.
Education has been a huge part of my career and has allowed me to discover so many different facets of this industry. I have trained at the Redken Exchange on 5th Ave, NY and was an educator for the luxury line, Pureology for 4 years. I have also trained with Deva Curl, Aveda and have spent years attending courses at the Premiere Hair trade shows. I have had the opportunity to learn from amazing artists such as Sam Villa, Detlev Gessner, Peter Mahoney and so many other powerhouses in the industry.
Having the opportunity to explore so many different aspects of cosmetology led me to refine my skill to my true passions: healthy hair and beautiful color. Whether it be natural curls or bone straight hair, if it needs TLC, I’m here to give it. With so many years of experience, I have retained the confidence to be honest with my clients about realistic goals and helping them attain the healthy hair and brilliant color they desire.
10 years in the game and I feel like I’m just getting started. This journey seems to grow and change as the years go by and I feel blessed and grateful to be a part of it.
Well that’s my story for now. I can’t wait to hear yours, right here, behind the chair.
